The Faculty of Geography and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Abuja is Nigeria’s first of its kind, comprising four departments: Geography, Remote Sensing and Geospatial Sciences, Meteorology, and Environmental Sciences. It addresses critical challenges like climate change, disaster management, and sustainable development, equipping students with advanced knowledge and skills. The faculty integrates geospatial technologies, climate science, and environmental studies to tackle issues such as food security, urban planning, and environmental degradation. By fostering innovative research and education, it positions the University of Abuja as a leader in addressing Nigeria’s environmental and atmospheric science needs, promoting sustainable development nationwide.
